Visit the iconic Tashichho Dzong, a fortress and monastery that serves as the seat of government.
Stroll along Clock Tower Square and explore local markets.
Overnight: Thimphu.
Visit the Buddha Dordenma Statue, a massive golden statue offering panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley.
Explore National Memorial Chorten, a spiritual site filled with local devotees.
Learn about Bhutanese art and culture at the Folk Heritage Museum and Institute for Zorig Chusum (Painting School).
Visit the Takin Preserve to see Bhutan's unique national animal.
Overnight: Thimphu.
Drive to Punakha (2.5 hours) via the Dochula Pass, which offers spectacular views of the Himalayan peaks.
Stop at the 108 Chortens (Druk Wangyal Chortens) at the pass.
Visit the stunning Punakha Dzong, a majestic fortress located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.
